A guide to navigating the deep oceans of our memories and discovering a new world of insights into the ancient art of Scotch Whiskey.
This is my second version, based on the original idea born from the collaboration with John Robertson.
This one was specially designed for my dear friend Nerina Oca, who trusted me to create a new personal painting based on the Whiskey Tasting Wheel.
My concept of translating it into the Compass Rose creates a unique, personal and representative aesthetic.

Inspired by a photo of Marilyn Gould with a Glencairn glass.
The Glencairn glass is a crystal glass for whiskey developed in 2002 by the Scottish company Glencairn Crystal.
In 2006 she was the winner of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, the highest distinction in the UK industry
The shape of the glass makes the whiskey content in its chalice evaporate quickly, while the aroma rises, concentrating on the narrow mouth, making it ideal for tasters and admirers of this drink.

Cuando John Robertson me propuso la idea de llevar a un cuadro la conocida «Rueda de sabores» fue un inmediato si! Aquí está el resultado final de otra colaboración creativa entre nosotros.
The challenge was to find an artistic and original way to represent the 8 flavor profiles that can be found in a drink. So based on the idea developed by Charles MacLean we began to think about the subject together.
The concept of the Wind Rose was born almost naturally, since it is one of the oldest navigation instruments, which gave me the possibility of being original in its design, creating a personal and representative aesthetic adaptable to the project.
