What an incredible experience!
On Saturday, August 22nd, I participated in the art exhibition «Filletting thel 2×4 – A tribute to tango through the porteño style of fileteado».
Alongside other incredible artists of this authentic Buenos Aires art —all of them members of the «Almacén del Filete» school and under the guidance of the teacher Claudia Medori—, I had the pleasure of presenting several works inspired by tango and Argentine traditions.
I presented my painting «Portrait of Astor Piazzolla» —which includes numerous references to his music and his life—, three fileteado shoe lasts (man, woman and child) and a small guitar painted entirely with the fileteado technique.
In addition, I displayed a street scene in homage to the 90th anniversary of the Obelisk of Buenos Aires, with an original creation to decorate each of the faces of the monument, the iconic letters "BA", a lamppost, a typical advertising sign and a van; all of it decorated and made by me.
It was a lovely opening evening, surrounded by family, friends, and many people who came to the Casa del Tango to share the art and dance some tangos, in which I also participated!
Thank you for sharing this passion with me!
