In a conversation with Rusty Figgins over a year ago, the idea of doing the portrait of Dr. Bill Lumsden came up.
It took me time to find the opportunity to do it, giving him the attention and dedication he deserved.
Finally I managed to meet that challenge, in this new work, a tribute to a great whiskey industry.

Director of distillation, creation and shares of The Glenmorangie Company, recognized and multi-award winning, talented and creative, an icon of the world of whiskey, his personal imprint has left a unique mark on the history of the most important Scottish spirit.

The whiskey used for painting is Hellyers Road Original Roaring Forty, single malt whiskey, Tasmania.
In collaboration with artist Cecilia García.

This is the first in a series of experimental paintings, mixing whiskey with acrylic paint.
One more way to join art and whiskey together.

He is a Master of the Quaich and was inducted into the Whiskey Hall of Fame in 2017.
In 2010, The Times named him 'Scotland's Leading Whiskey Expert'.

Before whiskey is barley.
Scotland has only 7 distilleries that still have their own malting floors, just like in the old days, and Laphroaig is one of them.
The sea air and the sun enter the room and kiss the barley, the process begins to give life, and Islay's soul imprints its personality and blesses the future spirit.
